Blue Christmas: Longest Night Service to make space for grief, loneliness, and pain during the festive season to nurture healing and recapture the love, joy, hope, and peace of Advent and Christmas.
We recognize that Christmas can be a bittersweet time of the year. The constant refrain we hear about getting together with family reminds many people of what and who they have lost, or what they never had. The anguish of broken relationships, the insecurity of unemployment, the weariness of ill health, the loss of a loved one, the pain of isolation- all these can make us feel very much alone during a season that is noisy with celebration.
On the longest night of the year, we invite you to experience a quiet, contemplative worship service that takes time to remember, share our hurting places with God, and prepare our hearts for the coming of Christ. *The service includes lighting of memorial candles.
Come, those who mourn, those who grieve, those who struggle. God’s Word comes to shine light in our darkness.
