All are welcome! \n\nEvent Date: 1st Friday of the month\nTime: 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm\nLocation: Fellowship Hall \n*Each month has a special theme. \nOur first First Friday lunch was held on June 3\, 2011. One of our elderly members\, Aura Welch\, had expressed that although she was fortunate to live with and enjoy the company of her family\, she missed socializing with others. Pastoral Care Committee decided it would be beneficial to everyone\, and especially those who were otherwise alone\, to gather for a pot lunch luck once a month. Sadly\, Aura passed away just two days before our first lunch. DESCRIPTION:Here for you in your time of loss\nDate: 3rd Wednesday of each month (except for July and August)\nTime: 10:00 am to 11:30 am\nWho: Bereaved members of MUMC\nLocation: Parlor and Zoom \nThe Bereavement Support Group is for MUMC members and friends whose spouse or partner has passed away. \nEveryone grieves differently and in their own way\, and your grief will vary from day to day. There is no simple answer or definitive process for your grief\, but know that you are not alone. This is the fundamental benefit of MUMC’s Bereavement Support Group\, knowing you are not along and to remember Christ is always with you\, and His grace supports us. \nThis Support Group provides a safe place to share each other’s experiences\, concerns and emotions that may be causing pain. Talking with the group about one’s experiences with grief and listening to what others have experienced affords a great benefit to understand and process our personal grief. \nYour time with the Bereavement Support Group is a time specifically set aside for you to process your grief\, away from distractions and the day-to-day frustrations and interruptions we all experience. One of our elderly members\, Aura Welch\, had expressed that although she was fortunate to live with and enjoy the company of her family\, she missed socializing with others. Pastoral Care Committee decided it would be beneficial to everyone\, and especially those who were otherwise alone\, to gather for a pot lunch luck once a month. Sadly\, Aura passed away just two days before our first lunch. There is no simple answer or definitive process for your grief\, but know that you are not alone. This is the fundamental benefit of MUMC’s Bereavement Support Group\, knowing you are not along and to remember Christ is always with you\, and His grace supports us. \nThis Support Group provides a safe place to share each other’s experiences\, concerns and emotions that may be causing pain. Talking with the group about one’s experiences with grief and listening to what others have experienced affords a great benefit to understand and process our personal grief. \nYour time with the Bereavement Support Group is a time specifically set aside for you to process your grief\, away from distractions and the day-to-day frustrations and interruptions we all experience. One of our elderly members\, Aura Welch\, had expressed that although she was fortunate to live with and enjoy the company of her family\, she missed socializing with others. Pastoral Care Committee decided it would be beneficial to everyone\, and especially those who were otherwise alone\, to gather for a pot lunch luck once a month. Sadly\, Aura passed away just two days before our first lunch.
