Confirmation Sunday on 9/15

Please join us on Confirmation Sunday, September 15, as we welcome and embrace 5 newly confirmed disciples of Jesus Christ – Alexa Hunter, Ella Ross, Daniel Slone, Makayla Tardiff, and Robert Tardiff – into the life of faith at Memorial and The United Methodist Church. We look forward to their sharing their gifts with us and growing as active church members.

• 8:30 am – Confirmation Breakfast: In celebration of this milestone in the lives of our youth, MUMC’s Education Committee will be hosting a Confirmation Breakfast for confirmands and mentors and their families in Fellowship Hall.
• 9:30 am – Confirmation Service (Sanctuary): At the confirmation service, confirmands, who completed the confirmation requirements of attending weekly Sunday Services and the 15 Confirmation classes with the pastor, accomplishing 25 hours of volunteer church service, and passing the final interview, will make a mature public affirmation of their faith and recommit themselves to their baptism vows. During the Service, the congregation also will have the opportunity to renew our commitment to follow Jesus and be part of the church.
• 10:30 am – A reception with a cake cutting: After the service, a reception will be held in the Fellowship Hall to place your blessings upon our confirmands.

United Methodists use the term “confirmation” to mark the first time a baptized Christian publicly “confirms” their intention to live the vows of the baptismal and membership covenant and so becomes a professing member of the local congregation and The United Methodist Church.
